Our Easter bunny to you is a Capricorn: a paper model of the Bv S10 Hägglund, which you can print out and build. We call it "Bandvagn IBEX" because it is the MOUNTAIN TROOPER model. Together with the MOUNTAIN TROOPER and with STEINADLER, who has sponsored the main prize for the crafting fun, we are starting a model building competition here and now.The "Swiss Army Knife" among vehicles – HERE is a report introducing the vehicle – will give the Austrian mountain troopers (and other weapon categories) a quantum leap in mobility and armament by the end of this year. The incredible vehicle is available, for example, as a resin model in 1:87 scale in the versions Bv206D and Bv206C from the company "Arsenal". A model of the Bv S10 does not yet exist (carefully researched). The basis for the IBEX (model) are the real data of the VIKING and GOANNA, how the Austrian version of the BvS10 will finally look like is not yet fully confirmed.
Card models or "Papercrafts" have been known in Europe since the early 16th century. Initially used for architectural model building, later also for vehicles and figures, the 3rd dimension provided a way to visualize complex constructions in a simple (paper) form. The manufacturer BAES was not interested in cooperating in the development of the (paper) model, so the right to name the model remains with the inventor. So, the thing is called IBEX! The tough, untamed, powerful nature of the Capricorn seems to be the ideal namesake.
Printed on an A4 sheet, the scale is 1:50 (scaling down about -42% results in approximately HO scale). It is recommended to use a minimum of 120g printer-optimized, surface-treated, matte paper. The adhesive surfaces are light gray. A sequence for gluing is surely recognizable for experienced model builders, for the inexperienced, a dry run is recommended – assembling the parts without glue. Score lines must be prepared with a non-cutting tool. The adhesive should not "ripple" but adhere quickly e.g. Tesa all-purpose glue bottle.
Print, Cut, Assemble – LET'S GO. Additional parts like extra hatches (doors) can also be provided with transparent film on the windows. Antennas, toolboxes, etc. can be found in household items – promised!

An additional sheet with external loads and interior furnishings is in preparation, as well as a desert and winter camouflaged vehicle.
Why did the MOUNTAIN TROOPER treat himself to this model, we wanted to know from Editor-in-Chief Boris Kurnik: "My personal enthusiasm for the Bandvagn stems from an international exercise, where I spent a week with the Reichenhall mountain troopers as a referee with their 206D. I have since acquired my own Bandvagn M 1:50. On one hand, the implementation of the technical drawing was quite a challenge for the trained building engineer, but on the other hand, the design was decisive for the passionate model builder." And here is your personal Bandvagn:
