Spartan Race - a summary

09/05/2013By Redaktion

The members of the SPARTANAT editorial team have returned gloriously from the Spartan Beast Race in Slovakia. Everyone completed the 22 km (mostly uphill) and 27 sometimes very demanding obstacles in times ranging from just under 3 hours to 3:40 hours. The winning time was actually 1:48 hours. The last 300 meters were the most difficult, as their legs were already plagued by the worst cramps and obstacles such as crawling, rope climbing, and spear throwing still lay ahead. spartanrace2

The hits at the very end by two Spartans with giant cotton swabs actually felt quite pleasant. At the finish line, each participant was presented with a medal by two goddesses, followed by a banana and anything but cold beer. Many aspects of this race were Spartan-like. Especially the information about the course, the parking situation, the "shower" for men (many garden hoses), and the attire of the female participants. This last point is not to be taken negatively. Our conclusion about the Spartan Race Beast Event: The toughest one we've done so far, but gladly again! spartanrace1
