The Dutch Army is set to acquire an additional 48 Boxer RCT 30 infantry fighting vehicles, increasing their total joint procurement with Germany to 130 units. This will enable the formation of a new armored infantry battalion. The Ministry of Defense is allocating substantial funds for additional combat vehicles and air defense.
The Dutch Army is receiving “additional Boxer RCT 30s.” It is likely exercising its option for an additional 48 Boxer RCT 30 infantry fighting vehicles, bringing the total number of new units procured jointly with Germany to 130. This would mean the formation of an additional armored infantry battalion.
Information from the Ministry indicates that substantial funds are being allocated for new combat vehicles and air defense. For example, additional Remote Controlled Turret (RCT-30) Boxers will be procured for just over half a billion euros. The Ministry of Defense intends to keep the exact number of vehicles purchased for this purpose confidential. Behind the scenes, however, word is that it will involve dozens of Boxers. The down payment is scheduled for this year, with the actual expenditures for the purchase to follow in 2029 and 2030. The Boxer RCT-30 is a highly mobile armored vehicle equipped with an unmanned, remote-controlled turret mounting a 30-mm rapid-fire cannon.
