Evil 3D-printed "Ghost Guns," weapons without serial numbers, can be found on the internet with Google. But are you allowed to download or even print these files? What is the legal situation in Germany? Christian Solmecke, the well-known YouTube lawyer, provides answers to these questions. Just watch the whole video and you will be a bit wiser.
And a little addition from our side regarding the much discussed "Ghost Guns": This is a phenomenon from the USA. Such weapons are not possible in Europe. In the USA, only the grip frame, or lower receiver of an AR-15, counts as a relevant part of the gun. The barrel and bolt can be purchased and even shipped by mail without verification or a gun license. However, the grip frame can be easily printed since this part does not experience particularly large forces and the plastic can handle it. Nevertheless, you still need some metal parts for it to work.
In Europe, on the other hand, the barrel and bolt, the highly stressed and elaborately manufactured parts made of steel, are regulated and not freely available. Therefore, this issue of "Ghost Guns" like in the USA simply does not exist in Europe.
