According to a pre-solicitation notice from the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, they intend to procure new 6.5mm Creedmore caliber Upper Receivers for the M110K1 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS). This caliber is expected to provide range and precision advantages over the good old 7.62 x 51 mm. We are curious to see when the first rifles in this "new" caliber will be seen in action and how it will impact the armament of special forces worldwide. KAC website: www.knightarmco.com
