The German Navy gets new threads

The GERMAN NAVY (BUNDESMARINE) began development of a new shipboard and combat uniform in 2023. This week the finalized version of the uniform clothing system was revealed for the first time. Sailors will start to be equipped with it starting in the fourth quarter of this year.

The new uniform for BUNDESMARINE sailors combines modern features with the functional features essential for mission fulfillment, whether in normal duty, undergoing training, or on exercises or operations. Weather resistance and moisture management were key requirements, as operations often take place in extreme conditions. The new clothing concept also uses modern material technologies to provide both flame-retardance and antistatic protection.
