Simplate Plate Carrier by TIGER TAILOR

A plate carrier is designed to hold ballistic plates that protect the vital organs in the event of a hit to the upper body. With the Simplate, TIGER TAILOR has developed a lightweight, modular, and customizable plate carrier that meets the needs of the wearer and the mission. The Simplate we have is a From-Scratch version that we created ourselves.

We chose the Simplate with front and back plates, the ROC Hybrid 3-row cummerbund, and the ROC 40 conversion kit. The innovative design makes the plate carrier completely modular and disassemblable.

TIGER TAILOR uses a laser-cut, quick-drying, IRR-optimized Cordura laminate for the plate carrier, suitable for use in water or the jungle. The weight of the plate carrier is 760 grams. 

The Simplate can accommodate all 250 x 300 mm or SAPI M plates, regardless of cut, with a maximum thickness of 20 mm.

Front and back

 There are laser-cut holes at various points on the plate carrier for cable organization.

Both inner sides with Velcro for attaching valve pads to improve ventilation/buoyancy. Especially important for maritime operations.

Suitable for back panels with zippers, e.g. BackAss by TIGER TAILOR. 

Velcro area 140 x 70 mm on the front and 210 x 100 mm on the back for Patches.

MOLLE zones made of laser-cut, laminated fabric on the upper body and back. This offers plenty of space

Secure attachment of equipment that is MOLLE/PALS compatible.

Laser-cut MOLLE slots that can be used to attach equipment or pass cables are located on the sides of the front pocket. The front and back pockets also have MOLLE slots in the lower area.

 The side slots also serve to accommodate/hang/connect other equipment bags, such as a Radio Pouch from TIGER TAILOR.

A reinforced loop for attaching PTTs and handsets is built into the upper part of the front pocket.

The front pocket of the Simplate accommodates all modular front panels or chest rigs that are attached with Velcro, Fastex, or G-hooks.

The large Velcro area on the front pocket ensures secure attachment of the panel.

The straps

Removable shoulder pads are included.

We opted for the ROC 40 conversion kit, which allows for quick opening and closing.

Upgrading the front pocket is easy, quick, and uncomplicated.

Straightforward connection of front and back.

The shoulder pads sit very comfortably.

The ROC-40 buckles are easy and quick to operate, even with gloves.

The cut and construction of the plate carrier are designed so that the shoulder straps and ROC buckles do not hinder the shooter when handling a long gun in position.

Nothing obstructs, everything is well placed.

Nice detail, there are loops on the shoulder straps for attaching backpacks or other equipment.

Cummerbund

The low-profile ROC Hybrid 3-row cummerbund has a flat profile and makes it easier to access equipment on the duty belt. Thanks to elastic materials, you won't be short of breath. Ballistic plates and additional equipment can be attached to the outside.

Precision adjustment to all body shapes and clothing is possible with the Shock Cords. 

Quick opening of the cummerbund from the plate carrier using ROC buckles. 

The rubberized paracord is easy to grip even with gloves.

The counterpart for the ROC buckles is easily velcroed onto the front plate.

Easy operation, assembly, and readiness for use.

The cummerbund is equipped with laser-cut MOLLE/PALS. 

A loop is provided for attaching Fastex buckles or carabiners.

The rear tunnel is suitable for all types of cummerbunds with Velcro or lacing.

This makes the Simplate plate carrier very flexible and compatible with various systems.

The separate tunnel for the cummerbund is wide enough to accommodate different widths.

Conclusion

The Simplate plate carrier from TIGER TAILOR is impressive. The user can easily personalise the Simplate and equip it with a variety of accessories, from magazine pouches to side plates, zip plates, various pockets and much more. The material is lightweight, robust, quick-drying and easy to clean. We used it in water and mud. The ROC buckles were always easy to open and close. The cummerbund followed our every move.

The plastic parts of the Simplate have successfully withstood the changing environmental conditions in the North Sea, where they are already being used by maritime units.

The Simplate provided to us is a ‘from scratch’ version, i.e. a version made up of several parts. The option of assembling your own plate carrier piece by piece is not yet very common for end users. Specialized units use this option directly from the manufacturer TIGER TAILOR.
Regardless of what the Simplate is used for, it is a high-quality plate carrier that is a sight to behold.
