SIG SAUER Shows the British Its Weapons

Shocking! Our colleagues at BFBS Forces News have gained exclusive access to the U.S. Army’s “Next Generation Squad Weapon,” the M8—making them the first Britons to fire it. Project Grayburn is underway to procure a new standard rifle for the British Army, and SIG SAUER is positioning itself in the running. 

This gives us exclusive insights: The M8 is one of several rifles that could be shortlisted as a successor to the SA80. Here, it’s explained along with its specialized ammunition. The British team heads to the shooting range to test the 516 G3, the 300 BLACKOUT MCX LT, the M7, and the M8. They also get hands-on with the SIG MCX, already in use by the Royal Marines, and watch a demonstration of SIG’s hybrid ammunition against body armor.
