This will be the new service pistol of the US Army, replacing the M9: SIG has won the US Army contract for the pistol of the future with the modular P320 pistol. It is not yet clear whether it is the 9x19mm or .40 S&W version, as both were submitted, but unofficially it is said to be the 9mm. It is very possible that the other finalist, Glock with the models 17 and 19, will challenge the decision, as the contract has a lucrative value of USD 580 million.
