SHOT SHOW 24: Palmetto's "poor man's MP7"

01/27/2024By Redaktion

Well, how does that look? Exactly how it should look: like an MP7. This gun is a bit of a nightmare for American gun owners because it's almost impossible to get. Maybe for reasons that we Europeans need to understand better. There was even a chief editor of the firearms magazine "Recoil" some time ago who had to resign because he had written that a "Cop Killer" like the MP7 should not be allowed on the streets. The subsequent outcry from the Second Amendment Crowd swept him away. Despite this, there was still no more MP7 for everyone, thanks to Heckler.

PALMETTO STATE ARMORY is now taking a private sector approach and actually and somehow it is the most exciting weapon of this year's SHOT Show 2024. The X57 uses the same caliber as the MP7, and this here is still a pre-production model:

Here is a video where they present and explain the weapon themselves:

It doesn't look uncool, of course, as iconic as the real MP7. But the presumed price range of $999 will surely make the X57 a commercial success in the USA.
