SHOT SHOW 19: First TILO

The TILO series, the smallest thermal imaging goggles in the world, is making its debut in the USA at the SHOT SHOW. With unmatched portability and resolution, Andres Industries leads the way in thermal imaging technology. Discover the latest innovations at Stand #15650.

The TILO series, the smallest thermal imaging goggles in the world, has been extremely popular in Europe for about a year now – both among authorities and privately. Now, they are coming to the USA for the first time. And the SHOT SHOW will be amazed: at only 100g and 4cm long, the TILOs from Andres Industries are unmatched by far. The next larger thermal imaging device, the FLIR Breach, is twice as long and more than twice as heavy.

Since the introduction of the TILO-6 with its 640×512 thermal sensor, Andres Industries is also a leader in terms of image resolution. Other devices in this range only have about 320×240 pixels. However, development does not stop there. Many users complained about the shorter range compared to larger thermal imaging devices, which is explained by the wide field of view of the TILO. As it was developed as thermal imaging goggles and therefore must provide the user with a particularly good overview, it has a detection range of up to 1,000m.

This challenge has now been addressed by the developers at Andres Industries who have found a solution. They have developed an adapter that allows the 3x auxiliary lens of the TIMRO-X to be easily attached to the TILO within seconds. This connection is extremely stable and precise, so that the TILO with the auxiliary lens can even be used as an attachment on an ELCAN or hunting scope. Although Andres Industries does not distribute a suitable adapter to civilians, one can be obtained through ACTinBlack from Luxembourg. The TILO is mounted upside down in front of the scope. The on-screen display can be adjusted accordingly.
The only disadvantage is that calibration no longer works through the flap of the TILO, as it needs to be removed beforehand. Calibration must now be initiated with a button, then the device is directed towards a surface as evenly as possible and the button is pressed again. After that, you have an excellent image without any vignetting, as seen on other devices with an auxiliary lens. HERE is a small video explaining the function.

Andres Industries will showcase the TILO system for the first time in the USA. Visit them at SHOT SHOW Stand #15650.
