The German sensor specialist HENSOLDT delivers six more of its high-performance radars TRML-4D to strengthen air defense to Ukraine. As part of an extensive order package worth over 100 million euros, these will be delivered later this year. This means that HENSOLDT has a total of more than 50 air defense radars of this type under contract for a variety of customers.
HENSOLDT CEO Oliver Dörre said: "Our radars are urgently needed by the Ukrainian air defense, and we are proud that we can deliver all the systems this year. The feedback from our customers confirms how important the quick availability of radars is for protecting their citizens."
The TRML-4D is based on the latest AESA radar technology (Active Electronically Scanned Array). It ensures the rapid detection and tracking of about 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 250 km. It is capable of quickly and reliably detecting, tracking, and classifying all types of air targets - cruise missiles, drones, aircraft, and helicopters.
HENSOLDT has decades of experience with radar systems for air defense and actively drives the development of key technologies in this field. In addition to the high-performance radar TRML-4D, the company's portfolio includes the short-range radar SPEXER, the passive radar Twinvis, as well as radars for securing ship and air traffic. Both the TRML-4D and the SPEXER are part of the air defense system for short- and very short-range protection NNbS of the German Armed Forces ordered in January. In addition, HENSOLDT supplies radars for the new frigates and corvettes of the German Navy, for air space surveillance, and for approach control at German Air Force bases.
