The German Air Force is currently looking for new heavy transport helicopters to replace the old ones. Rheinmetall is taking advantage of this opportunity and is now applying in collaboration with Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, with the CH-53K helicopter. This helicopter has already been ordered by the USMC and will have been in use for four years there, gathering experience, by the time it is used in Germany. The competitor is the Boeing CH-47 Chinook, which also has a lot of experience in the air and is particularly desired by special forces. More information about the deal and the helicopter can be found HERE in the press release.
