Russians send AK-12 & AEK-971 for field trial

Russian media reports that the AK-12 and AEK-971 have met requirements for the new Russian assault rifle, with the former being favored for its simplicity and ease of use. Troops are now testing both weapons.

According to Russian media, both the AK-12 and the AEK-971 have successfully met the requirements for the future Russian assault rifle and are now being issued to troops for testing. However, the AK-12 seems to have better chances as it consists of fewer parts and is easier to operate.
