In 2022, the Russian army will receive the first production vehicles of the T-14 Armata. At the same time, Russia is pursuing business opportunities. A spokesperson for the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation has confirmed that Russia is offering India a collaboration in tank construction based on the T-14 Armata. India is looking for a successor model for its T-72M/M1 Ajeya fleet. The Indian T-90S and Arjun are to remain in service. The requirements that India has for the new tank it seeks align with those of the Armata - for example, a centrally located crewless turret.

India has also recently struck a deal with the Russians in the field of infantry weapons: INDIA ACQUIRES AK-203
