ROKSTAD RSCF-T03 Carbon Fiber Tripod

The brand ROKSTAD, belonging to VECTOR OPTICS, focuses on tripods and stands, and by mid-2025, they had already released a great product with the RSCF-T02 Carbon Fiber Tripod. In the meantime, it seems that ROKSTAD has analyzed what is good about the tripod and what can be improved – and at the beginning of 2026, they launched the successor model. VECTOR OPTICS provided MAJOR FINDING with a copy of the new RSCF-T03 - Tauron Ground Tripod. Our good friend MAJOR FINDING has looked at the new tripod in detail and shares his thoughts with us.

Technical Data

The three legs of the tripod consist of four segments and can be continuously adjusted to a height between 56 cm and 169 cm. When unfolding, the legs can be locked in three different positions, allowing you to further vary the height and contact area. The base of the tripod is again made of aluminum and is slightly skeletonized on the top.

In the center, there is a combined socket for both 1/4 and 3/8 inch, and on the side of the base, there are two sockets for additional equipment – one with a 1/4 inch and one with a 3/8 inch thread. Carbon fiber is used for the legs in this case as well, and with a total weight of 2.1 kg, it can carry loads of up to 35 kg.

Features and Details

Unlike the predecessor model RSCF-T02, the T03 no longer features a built-in leveling head but has just a simple base plate – however, there is still a hook on the underside where you can hang your additional weight (or a backpack).

The skeletonized leveling head was our only criticism of the RSCF-T02, as it often snagged due to the small contact area with the base plate. No leveling head – no problem, ROKSTAD likely thought and simply gave the T03 a simple base plate. A straightforward and, above all, extremely quick solution to the problem - and no, ROKSTAD did not want to take the easy route! For those who insist on a tripod with a built-in leveling or ball head, they have developed TWO completely new models (without skeletonization). We will try to review these and other models and innovations from ROKSTAD for you as well.
 

The top of the RSCF-T03 base plate features a small spirit level, and the two threads for attaching accessories are not directly cut into the aluminum but have steel inserts – which is obviously the much better option.
 

The main diameter of the legs is 34 mm, and two of the three legs are covered with grippy foam. At the end of the legs are non-slip rubber feet that feature integrated spikes that come out when you screw in the rubber feet – a very practical solution. Lastly, the legs have ventilation holes, allowing them to be extended and retracted smoothly.

Conclusion

ROKSTAD quickly addressed the only shortcoming of the T02 with the RSCF-T03 - Tauron Ground Tripod and got everything right with the successor model. The overall quality remains equally convincing, which is why we can only repeat our conclusion this time. The RSCF-T03 is a solid and, for what it offers, an inexpensive tripod that meets almost all requirements. Not only the quality is convincing, but also the attention given to the many small details.
