Rheinmetall's subsidiary Rheinmetall Denel Munition has been awarded a contract by an international customer for the delivery of components for artillery ammunition worth around 52 million euros. This order follows previous orders for fuzes, charges, and various projectiles from the first half of 2018 worth around 28 million euros.
One reason for the increasing demand for Rheinmetall's high-tech ammunition - especially in the field of artillery - is seen by the company in the performance and versatility of its projectiles. These are reportedly of great interest and acceptance among artillery forces worldwide. The company's current activities in projectile development aim to improve product properties to continue to meet new customer requirements regarding range, precision, and effectiveness. All variants are compatible with both NATO and non-NATO standard guns ranging from 39 to 52 calibers.
