Rheinmetall delivers military trucks to Ukraine

Rheinmetall delivers HX 8×8 trucks to Ukraine on behalf of the German Federal Government. A total of 26 brand new units of highly mobile swap body vehicles worth 12.5 million EUR are to be delivered. The delivery of the vehicles has already begun.

Rheinmetall is already involved in supporting Ukraine through several activities. For example, the Rheinmetall subsidiary Zeppelin Mobile Systeme GmbH will deliver a turnkey field hospital with the support of the German government in 2023.

Additionally, Rheinmetall is a partner in several asset swap procedures. This is a procedure developed by the German Federal Government to support Ukraine in its efforts against the Russian invasion in cooperation with European neighbors and NATO partners. In this process, NATO member states transfer heavy equipment of former Soviet production to Ukraine and receive available systems from Western production in return.

In the asset swap, Rheinmetall is currently delivering various combat vehicles - Leopard 2 A4 and Marder infantry fighting vehicles from company-owned stock - to Czechia, Slovakia, and Greece. Furthermore, Slovenia will receive HX 8×8 trucks of the same type as those now delivered to Ukraine. In exchange, NATO partners will transfer combat and infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine.
