Rheinmetall has been awarded a contract to deliver artillery ammunition to a European customer. The contract value is in the mid-double-digit million euro range. The ammunition is scheduled to be delivered in 2023 and 2024.
The contract is part of a series of orders in the field of infantry fighting vehicle and main battle tank ammunition. Rheinmetall thus underscores its high competence in the production of ammunition for its military customers. In addition, the company has the capacity to provide large quantities at short notice.
The Düsseldorf-based technology group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of weapons and ammunition systems. The spectrum ranges from medium-caliber ammunition for infantry fighting vehicles and anti-aircraft guns as well as aircraft armament, to tank and artillery ammunition, and high-energy laser applications. Currently, Rheinmetall is also building a new production facility for 35mm medium-caliber ammunition at its Lower Saxony site in Unterlüß, in order to be able to meet current needs in the field of air defense from summer 2023 onwards.
