REVIEW: ZENTAURON Rubber Pouch Rifle

Flat pockets for magazines can make a lot of sense in a few places of the equipment. From ZENTAURON now there is exactly something like this, the Rubber Pouches Rifle. We show them to you in detail.

There are three sizes available and this is how they look from the front - for one, two, three magazines. Very smooth and unspectacular. The body is made of sturdy rubber band and securely encloses whatever you put inside.

On the back of the Rubber Pouch Rifle, you will of course find a PALS system, because somehow the pockets also have to hold on to the equipment.

ZENTAURON uses its proven Faststicks for mounting on the gear. Threading them into the PALS loops is a real joy.

The big advantage of these pockets is that they lie flat against the body after removing the magazine. That is also their disadvantage at the same time. It is difficult to reinsert the magazine with one hand. It is much easier with two hands. The small tab on each insertion should help you with that.

Now the question of all questions, what fits inside? Basically all magazines in the caliber 5.56 mm. In the image you can see: G36 Pmag, AUG Pmag, USGI M4 magazine, Troy M4 magazine, and an AK74 magazine in 5.45 x 39mm. Other items like flashlights, GPS devices, and smartphones also fit inside, which is an advantage of these slim holders.

The AK74 magazine nose rubs quite noticeably against the rubber. We will continue to observe it for durability with frequent use.

Unfortunately, what doesn't fit inside are the usual suspects. Once all magazines in the caliber 7.62 mm such as Ak47 and our old friend, the G36 magazine in its original state.

CONCLUSION: The Rubber Pouches Rifle from ZENTAURON are a valid option to securely carry magazines into the field. They securely hold everything you entrust to them, very slim. The Rubber Pouches also serve as organizational elements inside backpacks or bags.
