REVIEW: ZENTAURON Plate Carrier Vulcan LC with Rubber Band

Anyone who carries plates needs a plate carrier. At the top, we have two plates in hand, the garment that holds them is the new Vulcan LC Rubberband plate carrier from ZENTAURON. We took a look at it for you.

The ZENTAURON Vulcan LC Rubberband plate carrier on a man. ZENTAURON has taken a closer look and embraces a lot of international equipment trends, which they combine in this new plate carrier. One of the main features is the consistent use of quick releases (ROC, sometimes also called ZenTubes). These revolutionize the operation of the carrier, as the wearer can quickly put it on and take it off. Quick releases also replace a separate release system. The heavy equipment is removed from the wearer with two simple clicks.

ZENTAURON is now also using laser cut, offering classic MOLLE-sewn plate carriers as well. Laser cut results in a very smooth surface, where pockets can be attached. But this flexible carrier can also be used as a slick or undershirt plate carrier. MOLLE allows it to be configured as a full, heavy system.

Let's get into the details. There is Velcro on the chest. Everyone needs that. There is no separate admin pouch. If needed, MOLLE can be added to attach one.

The clips you see, we wanted to tell you this long ago, are from us and do not come with the carrier. The lower half of the VULCAN LC is also MOLLE and Velcro. This makes the little one extremely versatile. If you prefer it simple: just insert MOLLE pouches. If you want it more complex, configure and attach one or more flaps — we see them on the backside — from ZENTAURON and attach them.

And for those who want to be very flexible, like us: attach clips and latch a micro chest rig to the abdomen. Advantage: take the harness with you and attach the rig around you when the plate carrier is not needed. Another advantage: if the plate carrier is meant for protection but you don't need all the ammunition gear, you can simply set aside the micro rig. In the image, you see the micro rig from another manufacturer, we are eagerly awaiting the solution that ZENTAURON will present.

The backside: Lasercut MOLLE everywhere you look. And behold, the whole back can be equipped with gear.

Here we encounter a flap from ZENTAURON. It covers all MOLLE, is self-attached, but can of course be equipped with pockets. ZENTAURON offers different flaps, also as a magazine or kangaroo flap. Everyone can equip their carrier as needed. The bonus is that it can be swapped out with just a few simple steps.

The shoulder area. The straps run through an eyelet and are Velcroed.

Above the Velcro field on the back is a handle that can be Velcroed in place.

Nice detail: the manufacturer's name is engraved on the handle.

The shoulder strap adjustments in action, adjusted with one hand. For those who want more padding in the area, ZENTAURON offers additional pads.

At the top front, again ROC closures. The arrow shows that ZENTAURON has decided to install them to open towards the body's center.
