REVIEW: ZENTAURON ABC protective mask bag

In times like these, everyone should carry a protective mask with them. But there are also groups of people who should always carry their protective mask with them - preferably against ABC threats. We mean soldiers, because you never know when the next HC fog or irritant projectile will detonate. To carry the ABC protective mask quickly at hand, ZENTAURON has come up with something clever. Today we show you their ABC protective mask bag in detail.

Quick access is ensured by a snap buckle and a roll closure. It is simple to handle and secure.

The lips of the roll closure are stiffened to make rolling up easy to do. The ABC protective mask bag is made of a two-layer Cordura cover and measures approximately 37 x 20 x 12 cm when unfolded. Depending on the mask, it is of course smaller when rolled up.

Speaking of protective masks. Pretty much all masks on the market should fit in the ABC protective mask bag. Unfortunately, we do not have the means to test this for all masks, but the new and old masks of the Bundeswehr fit in. The mask of the Austrian Armed Forces fits, and as seen in the pictures, the old Soviet rubber mask with its bulky filter fits. Should there be a need to evacuate a reactor again, we are ready...

The interior is in bright tropical camouflage. This way, you can find everything in the bag even in the dark. The ABC protective mask bag offers two compartments in the lower area for various ABC accessories, such as gloves or spare lenses.

The bag can be attached to your equipment using MALICE clips or similar fastening materials. There are 4 x 2 PALS loops available for this purpose.

Under the PALS field, you will find large Velcro flaps.

Here you can see it fully unfolded. The Velcro surfaces measure 10 x 12 cm each and the total height of the tunnel is 13 centimeters.

Thanks to this wide tunnel, you can attach the ABC protective mask bag directly to your cummerbund or belt using Velcro. This is quick and requires no extra material.

Some may find this type of attachment impractical. Therefore, ZENTAURON offers a matching leg kit to carry the ABC protective mask bag on the thigh. In the picture, you can see the attachment strap with a large snap buckle. In the background, the leg strap is already hooked into the Velcro tunnel.

The attachment strap is mounted using Velcro. These 25 mm wide straps are easily connected to the equipment via Velcro. Whether through PALS on the cummerbund or looped over the belt, what works best for you is the right choice.

The other end of the attachment strap is simply inserted through the corresponding eyelet on the ABC protective mask bag. Thanks to the design, it cannot slip out.

This is how it looks when fully assembled. We found this height very comfortable because the ABC protective mask bag sits high on the thigh and causes the least discomfort when walking or running. If the attachment strap is looped around a belt or harness, the bag sits very low, almost on the knee. This is very inconvenient when moving. Here, the attachment strap must be adjusted accordingly.

Here again, the ABC protective mask bag on a person with the leg kit. A very successful solution for the convenient storage of the ABC protective mask, in our opinion.

CONCLUSION: Having the ABC protective mask quickly at hand and also saving space is very well done with the ABC protective mask bag from ZENTAURON. With the leg kit, there is an even more modular attachment option for the bag. Thanks to the roll closure, the ABC protective mask bag is very soldier-proof and easy to use.
