REVIEW: XSHEAR® Pouch by TERRA B

At the ENFORCE TAC 2024 we discovered on the stand TAC Company an XSHEAR® Pouch for a rescue shear. This pouch comes from the Berlin gear forge TERRA B. In cooperation between the two companies, this pouch was created specifically for the XSHEAR®. We have already presented some products from TERRA B here.

The material used is CORDURA® 500 laminate and a polyester mesh with latex core

Inside the pouch is a Curv® stiffening incorporated. This is a self-reinforcing, 100% thermoplastic composite material. It consists of compacted, woven polymer fibers and does not require additional fibers to maintain its strength or impact resistance.

On the back are laser-cut MOLLE/PALS loops and an attachment strap for attaching and securing it to compatible surfaces.

Additionally, on the back, there are side loops cut by laser so that the pouch can be looped and worn by belts up to 450 mm wide.

There is a Velcro surface on the front.

The trauma shear is held in the XSHEAR® Pouch by a polyester fabric strap with Velcro, which is fixed to the front surface.

The goal of the collaboration was to develop a suitable holder for the XSHEAR®. Other rescue shears also fit in this pouch.

CONCLUSION: With the XSHEAR® Pouch, TAC Company and TERRA B have created a very good product to carry a trauma shear in a space-saving, sturdy bag for quick access. Also positive is the fact that for the XSHEAR® Pouch there are various attachment options. Everyone can carry a trauma shear with them in action, whether on a plate carrier, chest rig, backpack, or simply on a belt.
