The review discusses the High Visible version of the Pocket Quadrant Telemeter from Wndsn. The telemeter's design, features, and improvements are highlighted, making it a must-have tool for measuring distances, angles, and time.
We are world measurers. We always want to know how far something is, or at what angle to the horizontal we can see the target. Of course, there are digital measuring devices for this, but analog ones have their advantages. To perform these measurements, we naturally need a compact, robust measuring tool. In our case, it's the Pocket Quadrant Telemeter from Wndsn. Now there is also a High Visible version, which we will of course take a detailed look at.
At first glance, everything is the same as with the Pocket Quadrant Telemeter - HERE in our REVIEW - only in white. This observation we can only confirm. The surface is matte white with black scales. These cannot be rubbed off so quickly, as the telemeter consists of a sandwich construction of black and white acrylic and was laser-cut through the white layer.
The scales on the front and back are even finer in comparison and subjectively easier to read. The size, thickness, and weight have all remained the same, but the scales have been slightly revised. The difference in the inclination scale in percent is clearly visible in the image.
A 7.5° marking was laser-cut into the front. Very useful for the astronomers among us, because 7.5° corresponds to 30 minutes of Earth rotation. The marking can be used against a fixed star to measure time. Those who look closely will also see a marking at 5.7°. These are exactly 100 MIL, also useful for the BÜSTE or MKS formula.
Now also included is a pink thread for calculating sine and cosine.
Thanks to the matte surface, the High-Viz Pocket Quadrant Telemeter also does not reflect. Under red light, the white surface unfolds its full potential. The non-High Visible version was always a bit harder to read at dusk, against and red light.
So small and already a full-fledged measuring tool. With the High-Viz Pocket Quadrant Telemeter, Wndsn has once again improved the telemeter.
CONCLUSION: The High-Viz Pocket Quadrant Telemeter from Wndsn is a true multifunctional mathematical artist and is more readable than its darker brother. If you have it with you, you can relatively easily calculate sizes and distances or even determine the time based on the position of the sun. Estimating distances and measuring angles is quick and easy with no other tools needed. For those who like to measure the world, a "Must Have."
Available directly from Wndsn for €42.50. Instructions are included in German and English. A patch is also included.
