The glorious seven comes from the Vortex house and is called VMX-3T. The 3x Magnifier is 105mm long, 45mm wide, and 45mm high, which puts it in the top range of dimensions. The weight is 208 grams without and 325 grams with the mount. Using the riser, it has a total weight of 330 grams. The mount alone weighs 118 grams. Optically, the VMX-3T is so good that it is only slightly worse than the devices from Aimpoint and Eotech. There are minimal deviations that are only noticeable when consciously observing and having the devices in direct comparison. The glass is crystal clear, the edge is sharp, and the light output is phenomenal. The slim housing also eliminates any distracting structures and provides an undisturbed viewing pleasure. With an eye relief of about 7cm, the VMX-3T leads the way and is the winner of this category. The field of view at 100 meters is 11.6 meters, which also places it among the better devices. Mounting the magnifier brings it 37mm high from the rail to the center of the lens. The riser then raises the mount by 3mm, which also benefits the 1/3 lower cowitness users. The device is mechanically refined and perfectly crafted. It makes a very robust impression and is splash-proof. The mounting is technically top-notch, with the only real criticism we could find: from the factory, the mounting is designed to flip away to the left. This is fine for left-handers, but right-handers will naturally have the flipped-away magnifier in their field of view. Not a problem in itself, as the mounting can be rotated, but then the release button for the locking mechanism faces the front, not the body. With a bit of practice, this can be overcome, but it takes a bit of time. Fortunately, the mounting base is compatible with Eotech and can be replaced if this truly bothers you. The mounting is secured with a knurled screw and can be quickly removed without tools. Diopter adjustment is available, as well as vertical and horizontal lens alignment.

CONCLUSION: The Vortex VMX-3T is our all-around favorite. It meets most demands and provides a very clear and good image. Both with the Holosun and the Eotech reflex sight, there are no noticeable issues, and the price of the device is also right. The only drawback is the mounting, which, while excellent in construction and function, is more suitable for left-handers. We have tried it and are of the opinion that it is slightly slower to operate - both when gripping over the optic with the left hand and when releasing the strong hand from the weapon grip briefly. If you're not going to war, the Vortex VMX-3T is the perfect choice.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Fotoresort/Mediaresort for their trust and for providing the test device for our comparison test.
