It is winter, and it usually snows. This means that normal camouflage patterns don't camouflage very well, but white shines in return. Today we want to take a closer look at the snow camouflage suit from Vertx. In the cover image, you can clearly see the effectiveness of the suit in natural surroundings. For those who haven't found the tester in the search image, he is right in the middle. The camouflage pattern is not pure white but a gray-white pixelation.
The suit is meant as an overgarment under which the normal uniform is worn. This means it is very loose-fitting, and a good set from Carinthia MIG or HIG can also fit easily underneath. The material is a super lightweight synthetic fabric that can be reduced to a very small pack size. The jacket of the suit is closed with a simple zipper. The hood can be adjusted with a drawstring. There is a pass-through with a zipper on the upper arms to access the pockets underneath. As a special feature, there is a fleece "face warming patch" in the shape of the Vertx logo on the left forearm. If it gets cold in the face, just cuddle with Vertx.
The pants are also made as overpants. The waistband is closed with two buttons and the waist size is adjusted with an elastic band. There is a pocket on the thighs, which is closed with velcro, and a pass-through to the thigh pockets of your pants.
CONCLUSION: A very successful winter camouflage suit from Vertx. Due to the lightweight material and small pack size, it can easily be carried in a backpack and used when needed. The gray pixelation creates contrast and makes it very efficient in the snow.
The Overwhites are available at Vertx for $199.95 excluding shipping
