REVIEW: UF PRO P-40 Tactical Shorts

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise: it's always about the length! Anyone who claims otherwise is probably already wearing shorts in the summer. We can confirm: it is much more comfortable than long pants. We are fans of the P-40 All Terrain Pants by UF PRO. That's why the Tactical Shorts added just in time for the summer. Double bookkeeping can be useful: at least on the belt of the shorts. It's basically just a short version of the long pants, with the same features as the proper P-40 - HERE in the SPARTANAT Review. For example, the belt loops are double layered. Belt goes through the bottom, over the gun belt with holster and magazines, and an extra loop to close. This is really perfect and practical for the shooter.

Otherwise, it's just a very well-fitting and comfortable pair of shorts, high-waisted and not baggy: two front pockets that work great for the "American loves" style of use.

No one has to know what you have in there: everything fits in the "secret compartment", from ID to condoms, a small zippered pocket inside the left pocket (from the wearer's perspective).

Two back pockets that can securely hold your wallet and close with a zipper. Nobody can pick your pocket. Here you can also see: the P-40 is made with two different materials. The inserted stretch ensures the best mobility, even if you have to go "ass to the grass" in a quick squat.

Below the knee, the Tactical Shorts has the full functionality of the P-40. Like the classic thigh pockets, also with zippers.

Also, an extremely practical phone pocket, ideal for a smartphone and secured with a stiffened fabric beam. And even if not used tactically, this phone feature alone makes the shorts worthwhile.

Change of location. Don't drink and drive. But once you arrive, a cold beer is refreshing. When you're in the car, the P-40 (both long and short) has a great feature: the thigh pocket has an additional zipper that allows you to open it while sitting and reach into the thigh pocket. This is also outstanding for frequent use inside the car.

At the top of the thigh, there is a small pocket on each side, ideal for carrying a pocket knife, flashlight, pen, or similar items.

And then it comes to an end. The complicated knee pad architecture of the long P-40 is missing, instead the shorts close with an elastic band.

The end of the legend: the P-40 Tactical Shorts go over the knee. Germans like to call them "Capri pants". It's practical - there's fabric when you kneel down - but it's also a matter of taste. We know people who have cut them up to the seam below the thigh pocket. Maybe not in line with the inventor's intentions, but it can be done.
