Autumn is here, which means it's jacket time, ideally a softshell. Today we exclusively present to you the Eagle Softshell Jacket from UF PRO. (Click on images to enlarge.)

Here are the front and back views of the jacket. The front features many water-repellent YKK zippers, while the back is completely plain. The seamless design of the shoulder area and the stand-up collar with a hidden hood inside is well executed. The material of the jacket consists mainly of a 3-layer softshell laminate with an outer layer of polyester fabric, followed by an ePTFE membrane and a polyester fleece on the inside. The jacket is generally on the warmer side and very comfortable to wear up to 0°C (it hasn't been colder yet, more details will follow). The size of the tested Eagle Softshell is "M" and the fit is very good.

There are usually pockets under the zippers, and that's the case here as well. The two front zippers lead to the same compartment (one on each side), with the outer zipper opening further. Inside, there is a division to store small items securely. If you're wondering about the abstract hand pose (top left), it's Rocktober. There is a pocket on the upper and lower arms (bottom left), a common feature on many jackets nowadays. The sleeve hem is adjustable in width with a velcro system. Additionally, there is a small fleece hand cuff (bottom right) attached for added warmth when needed. Ventilation openings are located under the arms and on the sides (top right). Interestingly, this jacket has them in two separate sections.

The interior is lined with mesh fabric, and there are two chest pockets on the inside as well. This jacket also features UF PRO Airpac inserts on the shoulders, similar to the UF PRO Combatshirt.

The hood is tucked away beneath the hidden zipper at the collar. It is made of a very water-repellent and breathable GORE-TEX 2-layer laminate and comes with a removable HOOD-Harness. The harness fits like a cap shield and ensures a perfect fit of the hood. The only downside is that when the hood is rolled with it, the collar becomes a bit tight.

CONCLUSION: UF PRO delivers a very high-quality and well-thought-out jacket with the Eagle Softshell Jacket. The material is good at repelling water (not waterproof!) and protects the wearer very well from harsh autumn and early winter weather. UF PRO offers high-end quality at a very good price.
