There are still the good old things ... And some things just never change. These swim trunks are an example of that. Unchanged since World War II, they are still used today and are the classic UDT/Navy SEAL Swim Trunks. SPARTANAT has snagged a combat swimmer swim trunk and tested it for you at the pool.
This swim trunk was developed for the men of the Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT), the predecessors of the SEALs. And nothing has changed since then. These shorts still use the original cut from the time of World War II. That also means that they are quite basic. There is no mesh lining, just this swim trunk made of a fabric that resembles classic men's trousers - Khakis - from which it likely descends. This good thing fits relatively tight and is still used for UDT and SEAL training.
On the back of the swim trunks, you can see a small pocket. The front is buttoned and also has a fabric strip that is fastened with D-rings. A swim trunk without any frills and of timeless beauty ...
VERDICT: Timeless beauty is not always in demand. Anyone who ventures into the pool with this piece will attract attention and receive comments. But they won't be approving, because these swim trunks are socially conspicuous because they are completely unfashionable. But that's not their job with the SEALs anyway. It is certainly unusual to wear one's personal belongings in swim trunks made of trouser fabric that have no underwear or mesh lining. The high cut of the UDT/Navy SEAL Swim Trunks is particularly dangerous. If you have even a little bit of fat on your hips, it will be pushed up to form a clearly visible spare tire. Lesson: these swim trunks only fit people with well-defined abdominal muscles.
UDT/Navy SEAL Swim Trunks are available on Ebay.com and at the Navy SEALs Shop for around $20 (excluding shipping).
Navy SEALs during dive exercises in the pool: The goggles on the bottom must be put on, the hands are tied behind the back. At least the guys are wearing the UDT/Navy SEAL Swim Trunks.
