TYR Tactical is one of the North American gear companies that are less known to us, yet they have a very good and classic range. The flagship product is the Pico Assaulters Plate Carrier - we introduce it to you in a special variant that was sold to the Australian Army Special Forces. You can see the current Pico presented at Soldier Systems.
The Pico looks very classic and is much more versatile than one might think. Here is the frontal view, partially loaded.
In the upper area there is a MOLLE Velcro surface, here we have attached a PTT. Patches or a MOLLE pouch also work. Nothing special, so to speak.
Beneath it lies a belly pouch, here expanded with a Ten Speed Double M4 Pouch. It holds everything from magazines to flashbangs and is a versatile piece of equipment.
The belly pouch itself is flexibly attached with Velcro, so it can be changed depending on the armament. Here we are prepared for M4 magazines.
The belly pouch flipped up. It is not fixed, but Velcroed like in an AVS system, so the pouch can be quickly changed and the load can be adapted to the mission.
Padded straps extend over the shoulder.
On the back, you can see the mandatory emergency handle.
Here is the entire back in one view. Of course, the zipper stands out.
The back is also modular and can be unzipped. In this case, it is a MOLLE surface that can be individually configured and easily replaced with two simple handles.
Unlike other carriers that have an extra back panel, the back area of the carrier is revealed when removed, showing the cumberbund Velcroed at the back.
TYR has given special attention to the cumberbund. Here we see flexible elements integrated in the front of the back, which ensures that when the wearer starts breathing heavily, they won't run out of air.
Left side configuration: The cumberbund is quite impressive. The radio is integrated with an extra pocket attached to the front, secured at the Velcro. Note the MOLLE area or magazine pouch.
Right side of the cumberbund. Looks quite different in terms of configuration...
The interior is padded with mesh.
The secret is a modular cumberbund. If you want a lot of air on your body,
