REVIEW: Toy Soldier LBT-6094A Slick

07/02/2011By Redaktion

Slick carriers are becoming more and more popular, Toy Soldier has also followed suit and has now released its own slick, a simplified copy of an LBT-6094A Slick. Today, we want to show you what it can do.

At first glance, the striking resemblance to the one from LBT is noticeable, as indicated by the name: "Replica LBT-6094A Slick Plate Carrier". But it's not entirely true, as there are small differences in detail. This slick is a hybrid between Gen1 and Gen2 from London Bridge Trading. The package includes:

  • Slick
  • Utility pouch
  • Side panels
  • 3 Mag panels
  • 2 Double mag panels

Now, onto the details:

On the back, the Slick Plate Carrier lives up to its name, it's slick. The utility pouch can be seen on the left side of the image. It easily fits an MBITR or a PRC-152. The shoulder straps are narrower than those on LBT. They are comfortably soft and can be adjusted via Velcro.

Here's the view from both sides, also very "slick". Small Sapi plates can be placed in the side panels - fake or real, it's up to you. The cummerbund (black) can be seen on the left side, it's a 10cm wide rubber with Velcro. It keeps everything together and in position.

Now, a look at the inside of the cummerbund. In addition to a lot of Velcro, the inner magazine pockets can be seen. They can also be removed if not needed. In total, five M4 magazines plus two pistol magazines can be carried. You can also fit a small PMR device or similar. The position of the side panels, like almost everything else, is finely adjusted with Velcro.

The admin pouch is equipped with five elastic loops to protect pens and chemlights from getting lost. A small notepad or documents are held in place by a small strap, clearly visible in the first image. The outside is covered with loop Velcro to attach plenty of patches, or not.
On either side of the admin pouch, there are two strap loops for attaching PTTs and similar items. These are a small point of criticism as they are very soft, causing the PTT to wobble a lot.
Below, you can see the 3 mag panel that we have already reviewed HERE. It fits perfectly on the slick, while the SMG panel is slightly wider.

The inside is made of mesh fabric to provide ventilation, whereas the original is made of regular Cordura. It works more or less well, but if you're on the move, you'll get warm.

Conclusion: In terms of price-performance ratio, the LBT-6094A Slick by Toy Soldier is a very good product. The quality of workmanship and materials is very good. Individual points of criticism hardly detract from the overall picture.

The slick is available in Multicam, Digital Desert, Mossy Oak (Forest), and Coyote at Toy Soldier for $89.60 excluding shipping or in the Ebay store of Toy Soldier.
