REVIEW: TMC Gen3 Camo Basic Field Pants (MCB)

11/20/2020By Redaktion
I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that request.

Hanging out in your free time and still showing style? Well, that's only possible with Multicam Black right now, unless you want to wear a suit and tie and drink a martini shaken, not stirred. The hype around Multicam Black means that you can buy a lot of things for a lot of money.

Well, this here is more of the cheap alternative. TMC is known for building gear for players - and in increasingly serious quality. And this is somehow the dream of every Multicam Black fan - a replica of a Crye Precision G3 Field Pant in Multicam Black.

This is what the holy original looks like. We know: the G3 Field Pant has a pocket layout like the G3 Combat Pant, but it doesn't come with the typical knee pads. You only need those in combat, where they come in handy. So the field pants are intended for everyday duty. The original costs 214 dollars from the manufacturer. For us, we still have to consider shipping and customs, which adds up to a little over 300 bucks. HERE you can get the real Crye Precision G3 Field Pant in Multicam Black.

This is the TMC Gen3 Camo Basic Field Pant (MCB). We have it in Multicam Black, but it's also available in other camos, which we have listed below. The manufacturer emphasizes that they have built it from "high-quality RipStop" fabric, but we can't say anything against that.

"Does it look real," asks the petty criminal Copycat, who is happy to beat the genuine with a replica. Well, in any case, it's pretty close. The cut of the pants is totally original. TMC even emphasizes that they use the same size charts (it used to be a problem that often Asian sizing was used). No, not here, what you use in the original Crye, fits here too ... exactly, in length and width.

A few details about a well-known pair of pants. No button visible, it's buttoned inside in a unique way, the top layer of fabric prevents the button from rubbing on the outside.

We chose the belt in Multicam Black to match, it's the beautiful piece from Til Valhall - here in the SPARTANAT Review. The belt loops can handle more width, up to six centimeters. If you like, you can attach a D-ring underneath the loop. The pockets are classic-normal.

In the back, there are two back pockets, and the bottom of the pants is double reinforced.

On the side, there is a small pocket for a knife or multitool or similar-sized items.

Characteristic of the Crye pants are the small pockets on the front thigh side, which are also here.

And of course, there are large thigh pockets on the sides.

Inside with a flexible strap so you can tuck in a water bottle. Of course, it's up to you what drink you choose...

The knees are double-layered and velcroed on the bottom so you can insert a pad. Super practical, the padding comes with TMC.

At the bottom of the pants, there's a small drive pocket. Condoms, Snickers, cigarettes - whatever you want to carry there. Maybe even nothing at all.
