REVIEW: TASMANIAN TIGER MODULAR RANGE BAG

The Range Bag is a compact bag used for equipment and firearm transport when heading to the shooting range. Typically, the shooter carries magazines, targets, hearing protection, ammunition, rangefinder, and ammunition - and over the years, sometimes quite a bit accumulates that is needed on the shooting range. TASMANIAN TIGER has developed a modular multitool for shooters so they can carry all their gear compactly and organized in one bag. SPARTANAT took a closer look at this new space wonder.

This fully padded Modular Range Bag is made, as usual, from high-quality and durable Cordura 700 den and the interior features six magazine holders with rubber loops in three different sizes, a large ammunition pocket, a flat accessory pocket, two TT Tac Pouch Round VL, and a removable Internal Holster VL, leaving little to be desired.

The user will find additional storage options in the large attached front pocket, the exterior pocket, and the lid compartment. They are also designed for modularity and are equipped with lockable YKK zippers.

The large exterior pocket with lockable zipper features Laser Cut MOLLE/PALS slots and a hook-and-loop area.

Inside the front pocket is the admin area with Laser Cut MOLLE/PALS loop fields, a key holder, and pen holders. A mesh pocket allows visibility of the contents and the storage of flat items.

On the side, there is a large exterior pocket with lockable YKK two-way zipper that opens generously. Inside, there is again a Laser Cut MOLLE/PALS loop field for storing and expanding equipment. The exterior pocket is large enough to hold two sets of earmuffs.

On the other side, there are Laser Cut MOLLE/PALS slots for attaching additional equipment pouches. Here, we have attached our IFAK Pouch and Tourniquet Pouch (not included) for quick access.

On the lid compartment, there are three hook-and-loop areas and a YKK zipper for a flat document pocket.

The hook and loop surfaces not only serve for attaching patches and identification badges, but here corresponding accessory pouches can also be fixed.

Two TT Tac Pouch Round VL with writable hook and loop patch on the front side for quick identification of the contents. With hook and loop on the back, these pouches can be universally attached to the Modular Range Bag.

When opened, the padded lid inside has large hook and loop surfaces for attaching various equipment items.

Hook and loop surfaces are attached to the padded, protective side walls and bottom. Hook and loop surfaces with laser-cut MOLLE/PALS slots are located on the front and back ends of the Modular Range Bag, allowing for modular expansion.

Thanks to the included modular, velcro-dividers, the user can equip their Modular Range Bag according to their needs.

The large compartment divider has hook and loop surfaces with laser-cut MOLLE/PALS slots and a compartment for holding documents or targets.

This compartment divider can even carry suitable long weapon magazines.

The flat 190 x 160 x 30 mm attachable accessory pouch is also part of the equipment. Accessories for cleaning the weapon or a magazine loader can be carried in this way.

The 240 x 160 x 150 mm large accessory pouch has a volume of approximately 5.8 liters.

On the left and right, the carrying straps and the lockable sliders of the YKK two-way zipper are clearly visible at the front. This allows for compliant transportation of ammunition in the Modular Range Bag (according to German law).

An adjustable, flat, and velcro-compatible Internal Holster VL made from TPU CORDURA 700 for weapon transport is included. Note: Please consider the respective legal regulations for firearms transport in each country.

The magazine holders each accommodate three double-row magazines and can be easily placed inside the bag thanks to the rear velcro closure.

A removable, length-adjustable, and well-padded shoulder strap allows for comfortable transport of the Modular Range Bag.

The padded handles make transportation comfortable for short distances.

Lockable zipper sliders on the YKK zippers on all main compartments secure the contents of the Modular Range Bag.

CONCLUSION: With its 46 liters of total volume in a size of 31 x 44 x 23 cm, this bag weighing only 2,150 grams is a practical all-rounder. Due to its modular concept and organization, the TASMANIAN TIGER MODULAR RANGE BAG is a versatile talent. The area of application of the Modular Range Bag is not limited to the shooting range. This bag can also be used where sensitive equipment needs to be stored and transported.
