Usage belts and the War Belt solutions are a vast field, we actually always wanted to make a series about it. And so it starts today: Tasmanian Tiger enters the fray with a brand new Belt. The new War Belt is Laser Cut (LC). There lies the good piece. Actually, it consists of two parts: the stiff inner belt and a cover that pads the belt, but also gives it MOLLE so you can mount your pouches as needed. Together they make up the "First Line", the equipment that you never really take off.
The inner belt is very normal. Tasmanian Tiger does not follow the fashionable trend of the time, so here a plastic buckle is mounted, not a Cobra. But hey, it fulfills its purpose, is a solid solution, and cheaper than its metallic, expensive colleague. If you want a Cobra, you can get one and switch it with a few simple steps.
It is always the intelligent details that make the difference. Tasmanian Tiger makes the inner belt easily adjustable. It is already sewn on the right and left. You just need the scissors and the belt fits. But remember: once cut, always shorter. So try it out and think carefully beforehand if it's really necessary.
The loop over the belt is laser cut, which means you don't have to sew on MOLLE loops. The slots are enough, making everything easier. The vertical slots, on the other hand, are for looping the belt through. Sometimes it has to be on the outside.
Inside, the belt cover is made of Mesh (for ventilation) and non-slip material. The belt cover tapers at the ends, because you also crouch or sit in the car. This way the wearer is not hindered. (By the way, we have a pre-production here - the final belt is securely mounted: The current one has covered Velcro on the inside. They act against slipping on the duty belt, as well as Velcro that prevents the thinner belt from contracting when heavily loaded.)
Here we thread the inner belt. Right guess: that's what you do when you want to mount a holster or - nowadays rarely - a thigh platform.
With a Tek-Lok, you can do it very well and quickly. The Kydex holster is attached to the War Belt. There are of course many other possibilities as well ...
On the other side come magazine pouches with fixed fabric flaps and snap buttons. Works great when threading them through.
What we notice is that the inner belt actually doesn't slide into the seam, but that the top MOLLE row forms the natural line where it rests. Now the pockets are also threaded here, and the question arises whether this doesn't become a kind of "weak point" in the long run. We made the test and pulled with all our strength. This had no immediate consequences on the laminate.
In the middle at the back, we attach a Helikon-Tex Handy Pouch horizontally. This works perfectly with the vertical slots.
Also, the laminate bar of the new Claw Gear pistol pouch fits perfectly into the War Belt, even if the top end of the Hypalon is cut wider than the TT Belt laminate.
