Always these rainy days. It's pouring like from hoses and you're standing in the botanical garden. Just quickly put something over it so that everything doesn't get wet. Of course, the person affected can have the super laminate clothing with them. Rain jacket and pants are certainly great.
But we are still big fans of the poncho. It can be quickly thrown over, protects a lot, is versatile and practical. TASMANIAN TIGER has reinvented the Tac Poncho and we'll tell you this: it's not only waterproof, but also has some very useful features.
This is how the Tac Poncho looks when laid out. At first glance, the viewer recognizes that something is different than with a classic poncho. It looks more like a penitent's shirt with a belly pouch and hood...
What convinces first is the pack size. The dimensions of about two coffee cups guarantee that it always has space in the backpack. The Tac Poncho comes with its own pack bag, which ensures that it stays in shape when not needed. Weight: 420 grams for size Large.
Here is the poncho on the man, although here it's size M on a man with L. So, properly measured, you have more fabric on the body. This configuration didn't bother us either: the body is protected, the hands and legs are free, full mobility is given.
The hood must fit and it does here. When the wind comes from the front, some poncho hoods blow up, which is counterproductive. Here, a drawstring with stopper ensures that the waterproof head protection remains close to the head. This also helps to maintain the field of vision. Turn your head left and right, you'll see what you need to see.
Underneath there is a zipper with which the wearer can make the poncho tight or loose at the neck. Additional hook-and-loop fasteners ensure that the zip is always waterproof covered, with the layer behind it also preventing water from entering.
At the sleeves, it is wide, but can be halved. Here, a snap fastener ensures that the Tac Poncho stays where it should.
“Tac” makes this poncho special. Here is a covered zipper that can be opened in a half-circle, so to speak. So, if you wear a chest rig or plate carrier underneath, you immediately have tactically free access to everything stored there. Even in the rain, the shooter needs ammunition.
And because TT is so generous to you, they've also built in an air conditioning system.
There are zippers on the left and right with which the wearer can improvise regulate the interior climate. Standing, you won't sweat. But if you're in motion, you'll quickly appreciate this useful feature, otherwise the poncho will soon be almost as wet inside as outside.
And right at the bottom, between the legs, there's a little button. This ensures that the poncho always stays where it should. No flying up when fresh air comes from below or the hot air from the subway – you're not Marilyn Monroe, after all.
However, snapping the button between the legs can look somewhat compromising.
With Large, you have a back length of 134cm of fabric (HERE at TT directly you can see the correct fit of Large). By the way, it's named T-Cover Rex and has an impressive water column of 1,500 mm. It can rain a bit.
At the bottom of the poncho pack bag there is a discreet inscription with TASMANIAN TIGER Logo.
