Tactically speaking, belts have two tasks: holding up the pants and taming the belly. Lately, there has been a big trend that belts, if they are supposed to be "tacticool," should be as massive as possible and shine with a Cobra buckle. Is that always necessary? No. Here we have a lightweight alternative, the Stretch Belt from Tasmanian Tiger.
The Tasmanian Tiger is recognized right away when you look at the buckle, where the TT logo is prominently placed.
The buckle is aesthetically satisfying, made of two parts of aluminum and riveted. There's also a hook that must fulfill its duty at the belly.
No complicated threading, the stretch belt is simply hooked in. It holds perfectly because the stretchable material always puts a slight tension on the belt.
The counterpart is a stitched loop, where the hook goes through. The belt, which is delivered in a length of 125 centimeters, is adjusted in width at the buckle.
The TT Stretch Belt looped with pants from Prometheus Design Werx. The spandex webbing is 3.2 centimeters wide. This can be quite narrow on tactically inspired pants with wide belt loops. The advantage is that the wearer hardly notices the lightweight belt with its aluminum buckle.
VERDICT: A simple, practical, and very attractive belt for when you need something light at the belly and to keep your pants up.
Get the Tasmanian Tiger Stretch Belt at TT (Link) or at any retailers carrying TT, for a friendly 12 Euros.
