The TASMANIAN TIGER Sentinel 28 backpack is a durable and versatile pack ideal for everyday use, duty, or short missions. With a capacity of 28 liters and an adjustable design, it offers ample storage space for essential gear.
Tasmanian Tiger from Dasing, Bavaria, presented the Sentinel 28 for the first time at IWA 2022. We took a look at this backpack.

The sturdy toploader is made from CORDURA 700 den and T-Square Rip FD, and weighs a total of 1.15 kg when empty. With dimensions of 55 cm x 26 cm x 15 cm, the Sentinel has a total volume of 28 liters.

Tasmanian Tiger uses its well-known Padded Back carrying system.

One key feature of this toploader is the use of a double adjustable roll-top cover flap. This allows the backpack to be adjusted to the volume and load weight as needed, in conjunction with the compression straps.

The shoulder straps are adequately padded and each feature a D-ring through which either the hose of a hydration bladder or communication cables can be passed. Additionally, the shoulder straps have four Lasercut MOLLE loops on the T-Square Rip FD for attaching various pieces of equipment. Both the load stabilizing strap and the chest strap are adjustable in height.

The padded hip fins are equipped with three rows of Lasercut MOLLE and are adjustable in width.

They can be completely removed according to the user's requirements, as they are only velcroed in place.

The left and right sides of the TT Sentinel 28 feature the T-Square Rip FD, making the backpack more stable, and each side has eight rows of Lasercut MOLLE for attaching additional equipment and compatible pouches.

A small front pocket in the shape of a bellows is designed to store small items, and the user can quickly access it via a YKK one-way zipper. For example, a rain cover can be stored here, as it is not included with the Sentinel.

There is a carrying handle at the top between the shoulder straps, and below that is the outlet for a hydration tube or cable.

The two vertical compression straps are equipped with sturdy Wojin buckles and Velcro at the end of the strap to roll up and secure the rest of the strap so it doesn't dangle. Both straps are guided through laser-cut slots, resulting in a flatter profile. Metal ladder buckles are attached at the end of the straps. The compression straps can be fully removed.

The vertically running compression straps and the roll top are equipped with Wojin buckles. The straps are adjustable in length and equipped with rubber loops so that the rest of the strap does not dangle and interfere. At the end, there is also a metal ladder buckle and these straps can be fully removed.

The Wojin buckles on the roll top can be used in both directions. Even without using the compression straps on the side, the Sentinel can be rolled and closed by rolling up the backpack cover. This does not make the backpack waterproof.

Through a one-way YKK zipper on the roll top, the user gains access to the main compartment of the TT Sentinel 28. Inside the backpack, there is a 34 cm x 25 cm large Velcro area, which is equipped with laser-cut MOLLE/PALS. A suspension for a hydration bladder is located at the top, underneath is the port for the drinking tube or cable.

Behind the Velcro area is a removable back plate with aluminum rail.

This can be individually adjusted or shaped to fit the user's back.

CONCLUSION: As a small, robust pack mule with its flat, inconspicuous profile, the TT Sentinel 28 is ideal for quickly storing and transporting equipment and EDC for everyday life, duty, or short missions. Because, often less is more.
The TASMANIAN TIGER Sentinel 28 is available from all retailers that carry TASMANIAN TIGER, for €180.00 in the colors Coyotebrown, Titangrau, Schwarz und Oliv erhältlich.
