REVIEW: TASMANIAN TIGER Operator Pack ZP

06/28/2023By Redaktion

If you ever storm a house with your team, some will probably carry flashbangs and other materials that need to be easily accessible. TASMANIAN TIGER offers the new Operator Pack ZP specifically for this special case. A truly modular space wonder. Find out what you can expect from their new Zip-On backpack.

The exterior of the Operator Pack ZP is very simple. There are two Velcro patches, each 13 x 10 cm in size, for patches. Get your Annalena patch from us.

The sides are also kept simple. Here you can see the three compartments that the Operator Pack ZP offers. A main compartment with a volume of 5 liters near the back, the upper front pocket with 2 liters, and the lower front pocket with 3 liters of packing volume. In total, around 12 liters are available. It measures about 35 x 23 x 12 cm.

The front pockets can be equipped with a bungee cord to compress them.

The necessary rubber cords and cord stoppers are included in the scope of delivery.

Main compartment

The flat main compartment is equipped with a hydration system preparation and the upper half of the back wall is designed as MOLLE velcro. You have four columns of seven slots available. In the lower area, the main compartment has a large rubber loop designed to hold a jacket securely.

At the top of the Operator Pack ZP, there is a hanging loop for hydration bladders and cable routing holes on both sides for the hydration hose or cables.

At the front, the main compartment offers two small zippered pockets made of transparent material so you can see what's inside. Additionally, there are webbing loops through which you can thread the round rubber bands or paracord loops to secure items or prevent loss.

Lower front pocket

To make it easier to open, the zipper is slightly angled.

Inside, the lower front pocket of the Operator Pack ZP offers a MOLLE velcro area with four columns of five slots each.

Upper front pocket

The opening of the upper front compartment is specially designed. As seen in the image, the zipper runs almost all around and the lid is flipped back (away from the body). Inside, there are MOLLE Velcro panels and opposite normal Velcro panels.

This has the advantage that the entire compartment is open and the contents, like with other Assault Panels, can be removed. Very well thought out, so everything can be securely stored until just before use. The small hook-and-loop area is used so that the lid can be rolled up once and fixed to the outer large Velcro area.

You can do the same with the concealed Velcro area on the outside of the lid. Very practical.

Velcro inserts

All the Velcro panels inside are not there by chance. They are intended to be equipped with the included inserts. The following Velcro inserts are included:

Two Double 40 mm/Flashbang Inserts for a total of four Flashbangs,

Two Double Pistol Inserts,

One triple Magazine Insert. Works best with 5.56 Pmags.

Lastly, two reinforced dividers are also included. This way you can customize your Operator Pack ZP according to your mission.

Attachment system

Attaching the Operator Pack ZP is quite simple, but not necessarily suitable for quick changes on the front. First, the two plastic tabs in the upper area must be inserted into the MOLLE/PALS loops. The Velcro surface sticks to the Velcro on the back of the plate carrier.

For optimal grip, the Hypalon straps must then be attached to the plate carrier with snap buttons. Finally, the two zippers are closed. Now the Operator Pack ZP holds bombproof. By the way, the zippers are compatible with those from CRYE, so the MOLLE Panel ZP fits all plate carriers from other manufacturers that support this "standard."

but it also works like this: The Operator Pack ZP comes with zipper adapters. These are simply laced onto the plate carrier of your choice, and you already have the right interface without having to spend extra money.

CONCLUSION: The new TASMANIAN TIGER Operator Pack ZP is the perfect choice if you want to switch between various mission tasks. Whether as a classic "assault panel," equipped with spare magazines and hand grenades, or more as a "room clearer" with flash bangs and door charges, or as a munitions shooter for the underneath grenade launcher shooter. Everything is possible. Also, the use as a simple small backpack, but you should always remember that you can hardly reach the contents of a Zip On Panel by yourself. So always bring enough friends to have the contents within reach.

The TASMANIAN TIGER Operator Pack ZP is available at all retailers that carry TASMANIAN TIGER for 160 €.
