REVIEW: Tasmanian Tiger Modular Support Bag

04/29/2021By Redaktion

You can never carry enough first aid equipment with you? An IFAK only covers the essentials to bridge the first valuable minutes, but what then? This is where the TASMANIAN TIGER Modular Support Bag comes into play. Designed to carry additional or simply extra dressing material. We took a closer look at it.

The TASMANIAN TIGER Modular Support Bag is designed as a shoulder bag. This padded, square pouch is made of 700d Cordura and weighs approximately 620 g when empty.

The dimensions are 30 x 22 x 9 cm and its capacity is 5 liters. As you can see, the TASMANIAN TIGER Modular Support Bag is equipped with Lasercut MOLLE/PALS.

The bag can also be expanded as needed on both sides.

There is no PALS on the bottom.

The Modular Support Bag is closed with a YKK two-way zipper. The extra-long paracord zipper pulls are included from the factory.

The lid can be completely opened and folded down. This allows you to access the interior quickly and easily. The Modular Support Bag can be well organized thanks to Velcro strips.

The mesh pocket is removable. On the back, it offers you rubber loops.

The inside is equipped with MOLLE Velcro. You will also find loops here where you can thread round elastics. On the two long sides, the Tasmanian Tiger Modular Support Bag has three rubber loops each to securely fasten additional equipment. The Modular Support Bag is not only suitable for medical supplies, but also for safely storing electronics or cables of all kinds.

The target strap is a 25mm strap with length adjustment.

The carrying strap is not fixed to the Tasmanian Tiger Modular Support Bag, but it is hooked in using G-hooks.

If you don't need it, you just need to fold it up and...

... you can safely store it in an extra compartment. Very practical if you want to carry the TT Modular Support Bag in a different way.

Thanks to MOLLE/PALS, this is also not a problem. Simply attached to the backpack, plate carrier, or bag of your choice and the Modular Support Bag is always with you.

But included in the delivery is a set of "SR 25 Safety QA" buckle closures with the Plate Carrier Adapter. This allows you to quickly detach the Tasmanian Tiger Modular Support Bag from your equipment. If you attach the buckle closures to the MOLLE loops and not to the designated eyelets,...

... you can securely attach the Modular Support Bag to the backpack, as it is only four MOLLE columns wide. By the way, the backpack is the Modular Trooper Pack - HERE in our SPARTANAT Review.

The Modular Support Bag ready for use attached to the backpack with buckle closures.

If you use the provided loops, you can attach the Modular Support Bag to your plate carrier. At the top, the bag is equipped with a shear holder.

This is how the Modular Support Bag looks like on the plate carrier. However, this connection is not very stable, as the back of the bag does not have velcro. This is also an advantage, as you can fold up the Modular Support Bag and see inside. You can see this in the main picture.

TASMANIAN TIGER offers you another way to attach: MOLLE Sticks. These plastic sticks are simply woven in place of the MOLLE loops and are secured at the end with a clamping mechanism.

Here we are in the threading process. This can be a bit tricky depending on the placement.

If done correctly, you will have created a very stable connection. The advantage is that the MOLLE sticks can be easily released.

Simply grab the paracord that connects the two sticks and pull tight. Gravity then works its magic and the Modular Support Bag accelerates towards the ground. Here is our video about the bag on Youtube.

CONCLUSION: The Modular Support Bag offers a variety of attachment options and a wide range of equipment. Both the interior and exterior have been very thoughtfully designed. A truly practical bag for carrying more medical supplies into the field.

The Modular Support Bag from Tasmanian Tiger starts at 80 Euro in black, olive, and coyote brown at all retailers that carry TASMANIAN TIGER.
