Dying sucks, especially when it could have been avoided by relatively simple measures, such as applying a tourniquet or bandage. That's why Tasmanian Tiger has developed the First Aid TQ Bag so that even civilian users are no longer without a tourniquet on the go.
This is how the bag looks from the outside. Designed in signal red, simple, with Velcro strips. A first aid symbol is prominently printed on it. The dimensions are 17 x 15 x 4 cm.
The back. The bag can be attached almost anywhere using PALS.
The First Aid TQ Bag is closed with YKK zippers and equipped with paracord zipper pulls. The bag can be easily opened or closed even when wearing gloves.
Inside, two tourniquets can fit side by side, as the bag was designed for this purpose.
Adjustments can be made with elastic cords and cord stoppers. If desired, other first aid dressings can also be accommodated here. A D-ring for securing the contents against loss is also included.
In the lid, there is a full-size clear window. Information on how to stock the bag is included, along with a recommendation to attend a first aid training course focusing on tourniquets. Highly recommended, as it could save lives.
In the previous image, the 2 cm wide webbing was already visible. This is the quick access. In the video, we have illustrated this nicely. The handling is straightforward: just pull on it to open the bag. A small drawback of this construction is that the bag does not completely close, allowing dirt to enter.
Here is the recommended loading according to the package insert. Tourniquet and blood clotting bandage. We have also added an "Israeli Bandage" to be fully prepared to stop bleeding.
CONCLUSION: Death by massive blood loss is still the most common cause of death in accidents. This is exactly what the First Aid TQ Bag aims to address. More important than carrying the bag filled with you is being able to apply its contents effectively. So make sure to take appropriate first aid courses.
