Gray day? The trousers here too. If the weather doesn't play along, it takes more than just a hardshell to stay dry all day. Tasmanian Tiger has the very good Dakota rain jacket as well as corresponding rain pants, the Dakota Rain Pants. We have taken them to their naturally wet environment. The hand checks the rain, but the wet sleeve already says it all. Do we want to continue with normal trousers?
The Dakota has fully proven itself to us in over two years. HERE is the SPARTANAT review of the Dakota Rain M's Jacket.
With the backpack in hand, the appropriate trousers are there. The wet jacket alone makes sure: today it won't work without it.
Tasmanian Tiger provides a simply designed pair of trousers that in this case in classic gray makes us a true "Grey Man."
Zip up the trouser legs and put them on so your legs stay dry.
The Dakota waistband is designed to be soft on the inside. Two snap buttons ensure a tight closure, underneath is a zipper. The trousers are intended for braces to be attached at three points inside. It's worth putting them on if you wear them for a long time so everything stays in place, especially if you're out and about in a multi-layered setting.
A flexible belt is also integrated and is closed simply and practically with a G-Hook.
There are pockets on the right and left with waterproof zippers. These trousers are meant to be "stand-alone", meaning it is not intended to reach through to the trousers that can be worn underneath. However, the Dakota is so well made that you can wear it alone.
In the back, the Dakota has no pockets and no surprises. The fabric is not only waterproof, but also flexible, making it comfortable to move in. Tasmanian Tiger uses T-Vent 3L fabric. HERE you can find information on the material. T-Vent 3L offers a water column of 20,000mm and breathability of 15,000g/m²/24hrs. It feels very soft compared to other materials – making the Dakota overall quieter in movement.
You have to have beautiful legs. And a zipper that opens up high.
Not because it's provocative but so you can get into the trousers with your shoes on.
Then the zipper closes the trousers below the knee again.
However, the zipper is divided, meaning you can open from the top and determine the temperature control in the trousers as needed.
