REVIEW: Tasmanian Tiger Chest Rig MK II PC

09/12/2015By SPARTANAT crew

If you're going to chill, do it in the GreenZone. Actually, this gear is designed for tough use. Tasmanian Tiger has decided to produce parts of its collection in the modern PenCott GreenZone camouflage pattern. The Tasmanian Tiger Chest Rig MK II PC is its flagship. We took a look at it for you.

The TT Chest Rig is a classic solution that resembles an evolution of the Eagle RRV, but with integrated pockets and modular options. In plain language: it's all there to go straight into action. MOLLE offers the possibility to add pockets according to individual needs or to attach additional stuff (Tourniquet, GPS, Admin Pouch) to the Chest Rig.

The good thing is that there is enough admin space. Behind the magazine compartment is room for maps and small items. The large panel is a wonder of storage space and extremely practical in design.
The TT Chest Rig is extremely flexible with magazines.

It likes G36, Steyr AUG, M4, and SIG. The flap (Mi.) for securing the magazine is velcroed. It is seen open on the right and closed on the left.

On each side, there is a pocket that can hold a canteen in size but is mainly made for small items. Structured with D-Ring, MOLLE, and Mesh, the user can store everything here that is needed quickly in action.

There is also a small admin compartment on top. That is really enough storage space. The flap can also be divided with a pocket, MOLLE makes it possible. Tasmanian Tiger has combined the PenCott GreenZone fabric of the Rig with fabric in a kind of Ranger Green, giving the Gear a very subtle appearance, more Central European. The second option that goes well with the GreenZone would have been Coyote Brown.

Let's be honest, we're old enough that we don't need a bib anymore. So the well-padded shoulder straps are unclipped and the upper flap is placed directly in the map compartment of the panel.

Fits perfectly, hardly adds any bulk. The straps we see are designed for attaching a SAPI plate. It can be inserted and secured in the Rig. This gives the man protection to the front.

This is what the TT Chest Rig MK II looks like in the unfolded state. Although made of lightweight 500D Cordura, it is a sturdy companion. The woven MOLLE fabric looks nice. The fabrics for the Rig came from Tactical Trim.

The back is lined with mesh to allow the body to get some air and ventilation to work.

Tasmanian Tiger has not only dipped the Chest Rig in PenCott GreenZone but also produced more gear in this great camouflage pattern: HERE are the bags and everything else listed that TT has in GreenZone.

CONCLUSION: The TT Chest Rig MK II is an extremely practical and solidly constructed compact solution. By jumping on the GreenZone trend, Tasmanian Tiger is ahead of the game.
You can get the Tasmanian Tiger Chest Rig MK II PC for 180 Euros at all retailers that carry Tasmanian Tiger (listed under the link on the TT homepage).
