If you want to seriously pursue photography, you can't get around a DSLR or at least a system camera with multiple lenses. Of course, you want to transport the whole setup safely and padded, because it would be a shame if the expensive equipment gets damaged. TASMANIAN TIGER has therefore released its own photo equipment series. Today, we want to take a closer look at the Camera Insert Modular 30 from this series.
In the image is the Tasmanian Tiger Modular Pack 30 Vent with the fully loaded Camera Insert Modular 30. Due to the design, there is enough space in the bottom compartment for a jacket and food. The insert fits perfectly into the bag; we didn't have to modify the backpack itself.
This modern masterpiece is the Camera Insert Modular 30 as you receive it. It looks a bit strange without its shell.
With the empty backpack in the background, it all makes more sense. The insert consists of a total of 13 interlocking pads of different sizes, which can be arranged together as desired. Not every lens is the same.
Almost every element has large Velcro surfaces on both sides. At the ends, all have hook-side Velcro. This provides the ultimate modularity that we haven't seen in any other photo backpack or bag.
Roughly, the Camera Insert Modular 30 can be divided into two main areas. The lower section, seen in the image, is intended for spare lenses. Thanks to the Velcro dividers, you can adjust everything to suit your needs.
The area above the Camera Insert Modular 30 serves as a compartment for the camera. Depending on the model and setup, one lens can also fit on the left and/or right.
The flaps can be used to pad the camera; they simply fold over. Without further ado, the entire Camera Insert Modular 30 can accommodate the following:
The small accessory bag is particularly practical. It can be Velcroed to the desired location.
The front of the upper section offers a large PALS Velcro area. Here you can attach MOLLE pouches or other organizational elements.
By the way, the small pocket is 17 x 12.5 x 1.5 cm in size and is very thoughtfully divided inside. It offers three compartments for spare batteries and a clear pocket for cleaning cloths, filters, and similar items. They said neatness is half of life.
Small rubber pockets are sewn onto the battery compartments for memory cards. This way, everything has its place and is readily accessible. Equipped like this, nothing stands in the way of photography.
CONCLUSION: The Camera Insert Modular 30 is probably the most modular photography bag insert we have ever seen. Thanks to the extensive use of Velcro, you can perfectly customize the insert to your transport needs. Night vision devices or thermal imaging cameras will also feel very comfortable in it. It also fits in other backpacks, but they should have a Velcro backing inside to hold the Camera Insert securely.
The TASMANIAN TIGER Camera Insert Modular 30 is available at TASMANIAN TIGER for €60.00 in olive and black. Also available at all retailers carrying Tasmanian Tiger.
