These chic bags come from the north. To be precise, from Copenhagen, Denmark. That's where the headquarters of Tardigrade Tactical is located - we introduced them to you in the SPARTANAT Interview HERE - and from them we have the Speed Reload Pouch for Pistol and AR, as well as a Dump Pouch, which we want to introduce to you in more detail today in the review. But first, a fun fact: the name Tardigrade comes from Tardigrada. These were discovered by a German zoologist and are called "Tardigrades" in German. The corresponding logo also comes from there.
This is what the bags look like without a magazine. Pistol on the left, AR on the right. The bags are sewn with stiffening on the inside and outside so that they do not completely collapse when they are empty. It's the steady opening that makes re-insertion easier.
Mounting is standard MOLLE. A reinforcement is sewn into the nylon tape at the end. After threading it through, it is inserted in the opposite direction. The system also allows the bag to be slid directly onto a belt (Ranger Belt with a width of 45 millimeters). The weight of the Pistol Pouch is a subtle 39 grams, AR15 Pouch 59 grams.
The top, when everything is mounted. In addition to the stiffening, the bags also have Hypalon sewn on both insides for grip. The top is also sewn multiple times, after all, it is the one under the most stress during the insertion and retrieval process.
Pull on the shock cord and everything fits tighter! Logical, right? Easy to adjust and holds. This way, the bag can also be adapted to different magazines. The shock cord stopper is also from ITW Nexus. Tardigrade pays attention to good materials. The outside of the pouch is 500D Cordura Multicam (mil-spec).
The bottom. Both bags have stitched openings so that water can drain and not accumulate in the bags.
Now we come to the Light Weight Dump Pouch. It spreads out over a width of two MOLLE strips and holds up to six AR magazines. Here, too, 500D Cordura in Multicam is used.
As befits Dump Pouches, it can also be rolled up. Here, a Velcro strip holds the bag together.
The bottom is made of Multicam mesh. Water can easily drain away and sand falls through. Like it!
But what's this? No, this is not a hole, because Tardigrade actually sewed MOLLE into the bag.
What's that good for? Well, you can of course attach bags to it. Here, for example, the Tardigrade Speed Pouch is repositioned. The advantage is clear, no space is lost, and it's really nicely mounted in our opinion.
The construction is not too thick and the Dump Pouch opening can still be easily adjusted by shock cord. At the same time, there is room for one more magazine on the War Belt, and the Dump Pouch can be placed further forward.
CONCLUSION: In short, the Danes can make gear! The pouches are high-quality and convincing in terms of quality. While others rely on laser-cutting, they still use classic Cordura and nylon and sew it stably. The bags are great as they are, and due to the construction, they are also stable and durable. We especially like the option to mount another bag inside the Dump Pouch.
The Speed Pouches are available in Multicam, Ranger Green (RAL7013), Coyote Brown, and Black. The Dump Pouch is only available in Multicam. The price for the AR15 Speed Pouch and the Dump Pouch is 40 euros each. The Pistol Speed Pouch costs 37 euros.
