TACWRK Berlin has released their own product, the Hoody Jacket, in collaboration with UFPro. Made of Polartec Fleece, it features pre-shaped sleeves, adjustable bottom, and elastic cuffs. Although non-tactical, it offers ample pocket space. The jacket provides good warmth but lacks windproofing. Sizing runs small, so it's recommended to size up. Priced at 79€, it's a well-crafted and functional everyday item.
But it's about time. How long has TACWRK been around? Anyway, they have finally decided to release their own products. TACWRK Berlin has collaborated with UFPro to bring the first piece of clothing to the store, and we immediately raided our account and made a purchase.
The object of desire is a simple and plain hooded jacket. In the store or online shop, this item may not seem very impressive at first and appears rather unassuming. Luckily, we saw the jacket live and in color on someone - far away from Berlin. After a brief discussion, it became clear that we had definitely missed out, so we promptly purchased the Hoody Jacket.
The Hoody Jacket is a fleece pullover with a full-length YKK zipper, made of 300D Polartec Fleece. In addition to the warm fleece, elastic and breathable material was used under the arms to regulate body temperature and prevent sweating.

The torso is cut close-fitting and ends just above the belt. You can adjust the bottom area on each side with shock cord, with the cord stoppers guided upwards so they don't dangle. The ends are equipped with rubberized grips for a secure hold.

Pre-shaped sleeves provide optimal freedom of movement. The cuffs are elastic and there are no buttons, velcro or other adjustment options.

The zipper is lined with about a 2cm wide wind protection strip that reaches up to the collar, providing additional protection for the chin. The zippers on the pockets and in the middle have a piece of webbing attached for better usability (we replaced the front zipper with an ITW Nexus GT Zipline).

The collar transitions directly into the hood, which - like the cuffs - has no adjustment options but functions with elastic inserts. The shape of the hood has become somewhat angular and has a slight wetsuit touch.

The features are completely non-tactical; the jacket comes not only in civilian gray but also does not have the usual upper arm pockets and velcro areas. Initially a bit unfamiliar, but it helps to wear the jacket perfectly as a layer under a wind or rain jacket. However, the Hoody Jacket has all the pockets one would need for such a piece of clothing: for example, two handwarmer pockets that can be closed with a zipper. These pockets are not lined, they only have a mesh lining.

Looking inside the jacket, you will find two additional pockets behind the handwarmer pockets, which are a true marvel of space with dimensions of approx. 25cm x 18cm. They are not closable, but due to their depth, it is unlikely that anything will fall out.

Luckily, we had a few colder and windier days, so we were able to test this piece right away. It definitely keeps you warm, but when there is a stronger wind, like along the Mittellandkanal, you are definitely better off with an additional layer. But it is just a cold protection jacket without a windproof function. The Hoody Jacket has also experienced a few raindrops and showers: again, a fleece jacket is not waterproof, but it can withstand a few drops without soaking through.
Finally, we have to mention the sizing. You can choose the Hoody from XS to 3XL, but it runs very small. The tester normally wears Large to X-Large, but the TACWRK Jacket was ordered in 2XL and fit perfectly. The person we first saw wearing the item normally wears Large and opted for an X-Large. So definitely choose one size up!
CONCLUSION: Hopefully, the TACWRK Hoody Jacket will not be the last collaboration with UFPro - we are excited to see what else is in store. The debut piece of clothing is definitely well done and has quickly become our favorite everyday item. The craftsmanship is well executed, the design is timeless and functional.
The TACWRK Hoody Jacket Black in Anthracite (Gray) is available for a fair price of 79€. Where? Only at the Berlin Boys of course!
Note: The Hoody is almost sold out now, currently only available in XS and 3XL - but if enough people ask, there may be another production run :)
