REVIEW: Tactical Tailor Fight Light PC

11/06/2013By Redaktion

Light plate carriers are in fashion and Tactical Tailor doesn't disappoint, offering their Fight Light Plate Carrier, which is available in Germany at SNIPER AS. Different from the regular Tactical Tailor line, the lightweight model uses 500D Cordura instead of the usual heavy 1000D material. We at SPARTANAT not only rested by placing our hands in the very practical integrated map pouch of the Fight Light PC, but also had the opportunity to inspect the entire plate carrier for you.

Tactical Tailor PC_2Front and rear view of the lightweight fighter: Full of MOLLE and a slightly protruding carry handle at the rear neck. But what immediately catches the eye is what's happening on the sides of the abdomen. We will examine this in more detail below.

Tactical Tailor PC_3The shoulder is properly padded and with a keen eye, the viewer can see a buckle that serves as a quick release. Classic and practical. The FL PC can be put on and taken off quickly.

Tactical Tailor PC_4The side: the large one is the side plate pouch (left). The small one is a cover for the buckle with a velcro panel, which is also equipped with MOLLE. The entry is therefore covered.

Tactical Tailor PC_5Double trouble: Under the side panel pouch (left) is a smaller part, which looks similar, doesn't hold any armor but is also equipped with MOLLE…

Tactical Tailor PC_6…and when you remove that, a strip of velcro is revealed, which turns out to be a fixed cummerbund. And with the two panels, it's an interestingly over-engineered design. On the left, you can also see the adjustment for the cummerbund - with MALICE and various straps. Tactical Tailor seems to like playful solutions.

Tactical Tailor PC_7On the inside, there are foam pads with nice air channels for the wearer to stay cool. They are also intended to absorb impacts, similar to the padding in the MICH helmet. The side pockets on the plate carrier are lined with mesh.

CONCLUSION: A solid and high-quality plate carrier, which could actually be even lighter if it weren't designed with panel over panel. Of course, if side plates are not needed, it will be lighter than in this full configuration here.

You can get the Tactical Tailor Fight Light PC in Germany at SNIPER AS in Multicam and Coyote for 239 Euro.
