Taclace offers a simple, soldier-proof solution to the hassle of tying boot laces quickly. With elastic bands and velcro strips, it's a user-friendly alternative for combat boots and hiking shoes. Available at Camostore for €24.90.
ALARM! ALARM! – These are the words when things need to move quickly. Usually woken up from sleep, it's time to get into the uniform and put on the boots, but these annoying laces can become a challenge under stress. Going into battle without shoes is always suboptimal. A solution to the lacing problem comes from Taclace, the "Taclace" - and we have tested it.
A simple and somehow ingenious solution: a long elastic band with velcro strips, two eyelets, and a cord stopper. The standard laces are threaded through this or you can use the included laces. Threading them is very easy and there is an illustrated instruction included. On the manufacturer's website, you can find the instructions along with a video. Very soldier-proof, the whole thing.
Now on to the usage: With US Desert Boots, the system shows all its advantages, as here the individual eyelets do not need to be hooked in. Simply pull tight, secure with the cord stopper, and wrap around the shaft, done. For hook eyelets, you can either skip the hooking or hook them in, which is unusual and requires some practice with the Taclace at the beginning.
CONCLUSION: For those who are at odds with laces, this is the solution. For everyone else, a quite interesting alternative when boots need to be put on and taken off multiple times a day. It's worth mentioning that it's not necessary to use classic combat boots, the Taclace also work very well with hiking shoes.
Available at Camostore in Black, Tan, and Foliage for €24.90 (excluding shipping).
