The new Claw Gear not only produces tactical vests and clothing, but also the accessories, such as knives. We tested the first four knives available from Claw Gear and will tell you what to expect: (Click on images to enlarge)
In the image, you can see four sharp, black things. From top to bottom: Combat Tanto, Utility Knife, Karambit, and Neck Knife. AUS-8 steel was used for all knives, which is very hard and resistant to cutting. The knives come from the factory so sharp that you could shave with them. After some carving and cutting work, this is no longer the case, but the blade still remains very sharp and ready for use.
All knives come with a plastic sheath, which can be attached to the belt or vest for the first two, and meant for hanging for the other two. The knives all have a very grippy, rubber-like handle and fit very well in the hand. The shapes of the knives may remind some of other well-known knives, but with Claw Gear, there is far more than just blunt copies. The difference lies mainly in the details of each knife, such as the handle design.
CONCLUSION: The knives from Claw Gear impress with both the quality and hardness of the steel used, as well as the value for money. They are kept in a tactical black color and cover the need for modern combat knives in their range, from the large Tanto to the small Neck Knife as a back-up.
Coming soon: Combat Tanto €119.90; Utility Knife €89.89; Karambit and Neck Knife each €44.90 excluding shipping
