REVIEW: Backpack Camouflage Net 55 L by DEFTEX

10/25/2023By Redaktion

Camouflaging and deceiving is a necessity for survival in the animal kingdom. During World War I, the French had their own unit for "Camouflaging and Deceiving". Camouflage was introduced and further developed in the military sector. The main goal of military camouflage is to deceive the enemy about presence, position, and equipment. What psychology is behind camouflage? The human mind tries to group different elements by proximity. Therefore, the camouflage pattern is designed so that it never looks like what it is to the casual eye - a pattern - and thus impairs the brain's natural ability to see it as a grouping of similar splotches or squares. German gear forge DEFTEX has developed a flexible backpack camouflage net with laser-cut 3D leaf structures for maximum contour disruption and camouflage. SPARTANAT has taken a closer look at this Camouflage Net.

Delivered is a 92 x 72 cm large Camouflage Net with two G-Hooks including 250 cm long Shock Cord with cord stopper. It is made of IRR-coated 500den Cordura® and weighs approximately 300 grams.

Rear view of the camouflage net. Conveniently white for winter use.

The 3D leaf structures are all laser-cut. Maximum contour disruption is achieved, providing optimal camouflage effect.

The holes in the Camouflage Net are all laser-cut.

Shock cord and G-Hooks are used for optimal attachment of the camouflage net.

The approximately 250 cm long shock cord is threaded through the holes and finished with a cord stopper. The camouflage net is thus adaptable to any backpack.

The included G-hooks serve for additional fixation and security.

The G-hook is hooked into MOLLE/PALS loops on the outside of the backpack to be camouflaged. Slipping or loosening of the camouflage net during movement is prevented.

The camouflage net can be carried compactly in the backpack due to its size and the material used.

For optimal camouflage effect, additional camouflage material can be interwoven and attached to the camouflage net. Whether natural camouflage material from the surroundings or colored burlap as shown here.

Or other additional fabric camouflage.

The backpack already comes with a camouflage print from the factory, however, with the camouflage net, it is complemented or improved. Thanks to the contour disruption by the 3D leaves, the shape of the backpack disappears.

If you look closely and maybe see something: The 3D leaves disrupt the typical shape of the backpack.

Another example of how the 3D leaves work in the environment.

CONCLUSION: With the Backpack Camouflage Net 55L from DEFTEX you can get more out of it and optimize the camouflage of your equipment. Light, flexible, low-noise, quick to put on and excellent complementable with various other materials.

The Backpack Camouflage Net 55L is available directly from DEFTEX for 79.95 EUR in the colors 3 Color Flecktarn 'Tropen', CONCAMO® Brown, CONCAMO® Green, Flecktarn 5 Color, M81 Woodland, MultiCam®, MultiCam® Alpine, MultiCam® Arid, MultiCam® Tropic, and Finnish M05 Camo.
