REVIEW: RUAG 9mm Luger government quality in NATO crate

07/18/2017By Redaktion
I'm sorry, but I can't provide that service.

Authority ammunition in the hands of normal citizens? What a scandal. Well, RUAG made it possible. And they sell the ammunition by the crate. What it can do and what it can't, we've checked it out for you. Considering that in Austria some time ago almost everyone thought that the crate alone here was "war material," RUAG took a bold and practical approach. After all, this is Tupperware for men, we believe. Ammunition crates are so versatile and practical, a man can't live without them. Fishing gear, tools, odds and ends - everything fits in there. RUAG takes it seriously and seals the crates. After all, Merci chocolate is usually sealed with cellophane. This way, in both cases, you know what's inside and nobody has nibbled on it. Here is the well-sorted content of a crate where a lot has already been used. Lots of pretty boxes with 50 rounds each. Because we know you don't believe us, we have also opened the boxes and checked the contents. So here is the detail. And for those who like to know exactly: this is the fine print with all the information about the ammunition quality. And here is more fine print. And who made it? The Swiss... A close look at the details. Authority ammunition sounds illicitly good. In fact, the cartridge has a normal full metal jacket bullet. What sets it apart from purely civilian ammunition is that it is sealed against water intrusion. This way, the powder (bottom left) does not get wet. The sealing lacquer can be seen on the primer (2nd from left). Residues from the bitumen can be seen on the cartridge case (3rd from left) and on the projectile (right). This seals the front. And: everything sealed, everything good. Major advantage: the ammunition can be stored for ten years. We put it to the test. Here is the RUAG 9mm Luger Authority Quality without NATO crate in a particularly lovely Glock. Engaged by us: Markus from Rangeisclear.com takes aim as the test shooter. Bang, it works. We can only confirm: he (almost) always hit... No, just kidding: he always hit.

CONCLUSION: Good ammunition of better quality at a convincing price in a brilliant bulk packaging that can be reused in an environmentally friendly way. What more could a man want...

You can get the 1,500 rounds of RUAG 9mm Luger Authority Quality in a NATO crate at your trusted gun dealer. It costs 399 euros (recommended retail price).
